I am back on schedule. I went to a local coffee shop in Squirrel Hill today and I sat there with my drawing pad and looked across the bank of people and computers on the far wall. I started to imagine what might be on their desktops. I think the result is quite clear. Actually when I was first drawing this I was going to make a crack about wireless, given how many wires I end up plugging into my laptop, but as I was coloring this is what I ended up with. I think it just makes more sense.

I was really fascinated by the line of people sitting next to each completely in their own worlds. Originally coffee houses were a place of sedition, people went their to discuss current events, get hopped up on caffeine and argue. The French Revolution was born in coffee houses full of interacting people, yet somehow our technology has allowed us to be solitary within five feet of another soul. So for now I am going to just sit there and watch.

Peace,
Kendall
